Managing Director, Chris French is a registered builder with a 40 year background in joinery, carpentry and building. He is a Registered Building Practitioner and is affiliated with all industry peak bodies such as Master Builders Association and the Housing Industry Association. Duncan Thompson Extensions extensions specializes in period extensions/renovation, second story renovations or second level extensions.
In alliance with his philosophy of expert practice and quality assurance, Chris employs a team of likeminded professionals including architects, engineers, surveyors, designers and carpenters. Sub-contractors such as electricians, plasterers, plumbers etc., all whom have the appropriate licencing and accreditation requirements to align with the current Australian standards. By maintaining an informed and credentialed work force, we are able to offer a build that meets and surpasses standards and goes above and beyond client expectation.

What you need to know about building practitioners
In Victoria, building practitioners must be registered with the Building Practitioners Board to:
- perform domestic building work that costs more than $5,000 (including labour and materials)
- carry out re-blocking, restumping or demolishing work, remove a home, or carry out any building work that requires a permit, regardless of cost
- provide more than one type of building work (such as plastering and painting) that costs more than $5,000 (including labour and materials).
