Founded in the 1980’s Duncan Thompson Building Concepts has been operating for more than two decades throughout the Eastern and Bayside suburbs. We have successfully completed well in excess of 1000 quality home extensions and renovations in Melbourne and have established a significant referral base.
Our Managing Director, Chris French is a second generation specialist domestic builder with over 28 years experience and together with fellow Director Steve Wellard, an architect with over 35 years of experience they now oversee the most professional and innovative specialist home extension and new home company in Victoria.
Duncan Thompson is registered with both the HIA and MBA with an established reputation in projects ranging from $50,000.00 to $800,000.00 plus. Our design team consists of qualified architects, draftspersons and builders all handpicked for their expertise in their fields and forward thinking resulting in a great family investment. |

Our design consultants are dedicated to creating unique designs within your budget constraints. We pride ourselves in keeping control of the project at all stages, ensuring the focus is on the successful completion of your new Duncan Thompson Extension.
Initially, we assess the viability of the proposal to ensure timing, budget and design issues meet the clients expectations.
As a design evolves we monitor likely costs and budgets and keep the client informed to eliminate costly surprises

Only after exhaustive quality assurance procedures are complete including, client approval of preliminary documents, the contract documents are prepared ready for construction.
Our expertise in dealing with TOWN PLANNING, RESCODE, HERITAGE, and obtaining BUILDING PERMITS, allows us to sensibly and confidently handle any challenge put before us.
Our staff are chosen on their ability and we have a program that employs apprentices and provides for an ongoing educational progression through the firm. Many of our construction supervisors commenced as apprentices.
