Q. Can we live in the house whilst work is being carried out?

A. Ninety percent of our extensions and home renovations work is carried out with the client remaining in the      house. This depends entirely on the design and extent of work required.

 

Q. How are Duncan Thompson Extensions’ building projects supervised?

A. All home additions, house extensions and renovation works are supervised on an ongoing basis, by both      your allocated project supervisor and overseen by Chris French.  Double supervision means that nothing      gets overlooked.

 

Q. Are Duncan Thompson Extensions’ tradespeople registered with the relevant authorities?

A. All of our tradespeople are registered as is required by Building Commission Regulations. Duncan      Thompson Extensions does not use unregistered tradespeople and we never will.

 

Q. Does Duncan Thompson Extensions employ established tradespeople?

A. Most of our core tradespeople have worked with Duncan Thompson Extensions for many years and we      support their ongoing training and career development to keep in line with our high standards.

 

Q. How does Duncan Thompson Extensions maintain a clean and tidy job site?

A. All job sites are regularly cleared of rubbish. We appreciate that this is your home and we treat it with the      respect it deserves.

 

Q. Does Duncan Thompson use quality materials?

A. We source all of our materials from leading trade suppliers who are recognised in the industry for good      quality materials that meet all relevant industry standards.

 

Q. Will the supervisor keep us informed with the building schedule and requirements at each stage?

A. Communication is essential for a smooth flowing extension or renovations project. Pre-commencement      meetings and recommended weekly meetings are arranged to discuss progress.

 

Q. What about public risk and other relevant insurance to protect us during construction?

A. Duncan Thompson carries all relevant insurances as required by the building contract and by building      regulations.

 

Q. How does Duncan Thompson ensure safety standards are met on site?

A. Working within the mandated Occupational Health and Safety guidelines at all times is paramount to      Duncan Thompson Extensions. We stay up-to-date with changing regulations and always use approved      scaffolding and safety equipment.

 

Q. How long before Duncan Thompson starts on site after a building permit has been issued?

A. We usually commence on site within two weeks of the permit being issued. At this stage, we have a consultation with our clients and all orders are confirmed.
